The idea of addictive gambling is something I’d never even thought about. I’d always thought gambling was just a fun activity that people enjoyed … sort of a night out and a form of entertainment. That changed after I learned more about my husband. The first sign that something was wrong was when he asked me to lend him some money so that his dad could get a new water heater for his car. At first, I didn’t give it a second thought. But a few weeks later when I saw my father-in-law I asked him how his car was working. He gave me a surprised look. I explained that my husband had told me about his car problem and that I’d given money to help out. He told me that never happened … and so I began to wonder what was going on.

After that, I started noticing that my husband spent increasing amounts of time gambling at the casino. I remember asking him why he couldn’t just gamble every few months or so. But he couldn’t stop. He couldn’t go more than three weeks without gambling.

His gambling got worse. We had made special plans for a trip to celebrate my fiftieth birthday and saved up some money. But then I learned that he’d spent the trip money on gambling. It seemed that anything that was stressful was a trigger for him to gamble.

I convinced him to attend Gambler’s Anonymous while I started going to Gam-Anon. That experience really opened my eyes to the extent of the problem and what had been going on. However, it didn’t help my husband. He said he didn’t fit in and that he was really going for me and not for himself.

I was told at my first Gam-Anon meeting that it would get worse before it got better. The group also taught me about “enabling” the gambler. I realized that I was enabling him by lending him money after he lost all of his so he could get through the week buying gas and work lunches. So the next time he asked to borrow money I said, “No” and he had a fit. He actually went into a rage and threw away his wedding ring, which we never did find. So yes, it did get worse instead of better, and we eventually separated.

My husband finally admitted that he did have a gambling problem but promised me he was done gambling. He also told the clergy (his cousin) that the whole marriage breakdown was due to his gambling and that he was not going to gamble anymore because he loved his wife. But just four days later I learned that he left work early to go to Treasure Island.

I also learned that his trips up north to visit his brother were trips to the casino. I discovered this when he called me from a casino and didn’t actually hang up his phone completely. I heard the sounds of the casino.

We eventually got divorced. I still love him and I know he still loves me, but he also understands what he put me through and he knows there is no way we could have a life together given that he still gambles. He has told me over and over how sorry he is. I have forgiven him and understand that it’s an illness. I also understand that there is help for those that want to stop gambling.

All the Girls in the World Beware!!! is the ninth studio album by American hard rock band Grand Funk Railroad. The album was released by Capitol Records in December 1974^[1] and was the group's second album released that year. The first single from the album, 'Some Kind of Wonderful', was released on December 16, 1974, and its follow-up, 'Bad Time', was released on March 24, 1975.^[3] A Quadraphonic mix of the album was available on the Quadraphonic 8-Track cartridge format.

Recording, production, and songs[edit]

All the Girls in the World Beware!!! was recorded at the Swamp, a studio owned by Mark Farner and situated on his farm in Parshallville, MI.^[5] The recording engineer on the sessions was Shelly Yakus with assistance by Kevin Ayers and Rod O'Brien. The album's producer was Jimmy Ienner.^[2] Ienner worked with many pop and rock musicians including Three Dog Night, the Raspberries, and the Bay City Rollers, among others. Ienner would later work on the 1987 film Dirty Dancing, as well as the film's soundtrack.

All but two of the songs on the album were written by members of the band, most of which were either written or co-written by Mark Farner. The album also saw an increase in the number of songs co-written by Craig Frost, who co-wrote three songs on the album—which was more than he had written on the three previous albums that he recorded with the group. During this time, Mark Farner was getting divorced from his first wife, which inspired the lyrics to 'Bad Time' and other Farner written songs on the album.^[3]

Artwork and design[edit]

The album's artwork originated from a concept by Lynn Goldsmith and Andrew Cavaliere, which included taking the faces of the band members and manipulating them onto the bodies of famous body buildersArnold Schwarzenegger and Franco Columbu. The body builder photos were used on the front and back of the vinyl sleeve cover, and were printed on the disc labels. The inside sleeve included an illustrated poster of the body builders surrounded by a crowd of females, which was illustrated by Neal Adams.^[2]

1975 world tour[edit]

During the finalizing of the album, the group was preparing to undergo a world tour at the beginning of 1975. The tour started on January 2 in Mobile, Alabama, and ended on May 28 in Hawaii. The tour also included several stops around Europe in April and concerts in Canada and Japan in May.^[2]

The Bannack Mining District in Beaverhead County is an exceptionally rich location that has produced millions in gold. Grasshopper Creek was the location that was first mined and produced an abundance of gold. Many tributaries were also worked by a variety of mining methods and were also quite rich.

The diggings at Grasshopper Creek did not disappoint. Placer deposits were worked in the creek itself, and along bench deposits elevated about 100 feet above the present day creek. There is now a state park located here.

One of Montana’s largest gold nuggets was found south of Butte. It currently resides at Montana Tech and is on public display.

Many other rich discoveries were found throughout Beaverhead County, and the Bannack Mining District was formed. Another notable area was the Argenta district around Rattlesnake Creek.

Broadwater County is also exceptionally rich and still produces good gold, including some nice gold nuggets.

Confederate Gulch was the best area in the county, and one of the richest in Montana also. Most of the production here has come from placers, and some nice gold nuggets can be found all throughout Broadwater County by prospectors using metal detectors.

Granite County has some good mining areas as well. The Garnet, Combination, South Boulder, and Philipsburg Mining Districts are all located in the areas around Missoula and Anaconda and were quite rich. In the Garnet district, Bear Creek and its tributaries very rich and were worked for many years. Miners recovered significant gold from the placers here, and later from lode sources found above the drainages.

Prickly Pear Creek is located in Jefferson County and was mined. From Jefferson City to East Helena, extensive placer mining took place and recovered exceptional amounts of gold.

Later in July 2008, the blueprint of developing the entire Lekki Peninsula into a 'Blue-Green Environment City' was proposed by the state Government, which covers an additional area of 600 square kilometres.^[2]^[1] The Lekki City plan was prepared by Messrs Dar al Handersah, Shair and Partners, for Lagos State Ministry of Urban Planning and Physical Development.^[5]

Based on the proposed land-use plan, Lekki city, excluding the Lekki Free Zone, will be divided into 4 linear development zones;^[2] the North Urban Zone which will be largely residential, the Natural Park Zone which will consist environmental and nature conservation park, the South Urban Zone which will include the existing and new residential developments along with commercial and mixed uses, as well as light industry, and the Atlantic Coastal Zone which will mainly be developed for tourism and recreational activities. The land-use master plan will stipulate a total built-up area of about 100 square kilometres, which can accommodate a residential population of about 3.4 million and non-residential population (touristic, hotels, commercial, offices, medical and industrial) of about 1.9 million.^[4] Several institutions, estates and new investments are springing up along the Lekki axis that has been described as 'the fastest growing corridor in west African sub-region'.^[4]

Wayne Walter Dyer (May 10, 1940 – August 29, 2015) was an American philosopher, self-help author, and a motivational speaker. His first book, Your Erroneous Zones (1976), is one of the best-selling books of all time, with an estimated 35 million copies sold to date.
Dyer was born in Detroit, Michigan, to Melvin Lyle Dyer and Hazel Irene Vollick, and spent much of his first ten years in an orphanage on the east side of Detroit, after his father walked out on the family, leaving his mother to raise three small boys. His parents had moved from Ontario, Canada, and were members of Baptist Church.After graduating from Denby High School, Dyer served in the United States Navy from 1958 to 1962. He received his Ed.D. degree in counseling from Wayne State University for a dissertation titled Group Counseling Leadership Training in Counselor Education, under the supervision of Mildred Peters.
Dyer, a Detroit native, worked as a high school guidance counselor there and as a professor of counseling psychology at St. John's University in New York City. He pursued an academic career, published in journals, and established a private therapy practice. His lectures at St. John's University, which focused on positive thinking and motivational speaking techniques, attracted many students. A literary agent persuaded Dyer to document his theories in his first book, called Your Erroneous Zones (1976). Dyer quit his teaching job and began a publicity tour of the United States, doggedly pursuing bookstore appearances and media interviews ('out of the back of his station wagon', according to Michael Korda, making the best-seller lists 'before book publishers even noticed what was happening'). After Your Erroneous Zones dozens more books followed, many of them also best-sellers. Among them were Wishes Fulfilled, Excuses Begone and The Sky’s the Limit. The success of these books eventually led to national television talk show appearances including The Merv Griffin Show, The Tonight Show, and The Phil Donahue Show.
Dyer proceeded to build on his success with lecture tours, a series of audiotapes, PBS programs, and regular publication of new books. Dyer's message resonated with many in the New Thought Movement and beyond. He often recounted anecdotes from his family life and repeatedly used his own life experience as an example. His self-made man success story was a part of his appeal. Dyer told readers to pursue self actualization, calling reliance on the self a guide to 'religious' experience, and suggested that readers emulate Jesus Christ, whom he termed both an example of a self-actualized person and a 'preacher of self-reliance'. Dyer criticized societal focus on guilt, which he saw as an unhealthy immobilization in the present due to actions taken in the past. He encouraged readers to see how parents, institutions, and even they, themselves, had imposed guilt trips upon themselves.
Although Dyer initially resisted the spiritual tag, by the 1990s he had altered his message to include more components of spirituality when he wrote the book Real Magic and discussed higher consciousness in the book Your Sacred Self.
